Students must be a U.S. Citizen to participate in CBL or Ally research program.
EXCEL is open to all students.
Faculty members please note: The CBL application does not count against the EXCEL allotment. Please denote CBL in “alternate source of funding.”
The CBL application process is consistent with the EXCEL application process. Eligible students interested in applying should first seek out a faculty member conducting research in the student’s area of interest and connect with the faculty member. Students should then submit a written application to engineering@lafayette.edu including a personal statement (what, how, who, why) along with a recommendation from any faculty member. Note that the recommendation does not need to be written by the faculty member with whom the student will be working on the research.

Academic year/fall research: Mid-August
Spring research: Mid-January
Summer research: Early March
